Corps Parks at Canyon Lake

Canyon Lake offers 8 parks with a wide variety of recreation opportunities such as: camping, picnicking, swimming, hiking, and many other activities. Information about each park is listed below.

NOTE TO PUBLIC:

In accordance with the Texas Transportation Code, Golf Carts are not allowed to be operated on Public Roadways at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Projects. This means please leave your carts at home and use your a bike, your feet or your car to travel on the park roads.

Potter's Creek Park

CAMPING ONLY BY PAID GUESTS!!!

Potter's Creek Park is is a beautiful Class A park located on the northwest side of Canyon Lake. The facilities includeone hundred fourteen (114) modern RV campsites, seven (7) Screened Shelters, ten (10) designated tent camping sites, and five (5) Family Sites.

Canyon Park

CAMPING ONLY BY PAID GUESTS!!!

Hours: 7am -10pm Daily

Season: 1 April - 30 September

Canyon Park is a primitive camp ground located on the North shore of Canyon Lake.    The facilities include 150 campsites, two overnight shelters, one day use shelter, a boat ramp and courtesy dock, vault toilets, water fountains and over 8 miles of hiking and biking trails.

Canyon Beach Park

DAY USE ONLY FOR PAID GUESTS!!!

Hours: 7am -Sunset (Saturday, Sunday and Holidays); 1pm -Sunset (Monday-Friday)

Season: 1 April - 30 September

Canyon Beach Park is located on the North shore of Canyon Lake within Canyon Park.   Canyon Beach is located to the left before entering Canyon Park. The facilities include picnic tables, closable grills, a beach, vault toilet and water fountain.

Note:  NO PETS ALLOWED!    If we find you with a pet you will be asked to take it home or leave the facility.

Cranes Mill Park

PARK CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!!!

Cranes Mill Park is located on the Southwest shore of Canyon Lake. The park is closed for renovations and upgrades. The hours of operation and facilities will be listed once construction has been completed.

North Park

CAMPING ONLY BY PAID GUESTS!!!

Hours: 9am -10pm Daily

Season: 1 April - 30 September

North Park is located on the North side of Canyon Lake Dam on North Park Road. There are 19 campsites (no RV hookups), vault toilets, no showers, no boat ramp. This is a popular scuba diving area.

Comal Park

DAY USE ONLY FOR PAID GUESTS!!!

Hours: 7am -Sunset Daily

Season: 1 April - 30 September

Comal Park is located on the South shore of Canyon Lake near Startzville. Comal Park has two boat ramps, 65 picnic sites, a large swim beach, children's playground, a restroom at the beach and two boatramps.

Note:    On arrival, visitors should check-in at the park entrance station; ask the attendant for the official time of park closure for that day.   Pets are allowed in park on a leash, but NO pet is allowed in the swim beach area. This includes the shore and water.

Guadalupe Park

OPEN TO ALL for HIKING AND FISHING!

Hours: Sunrise -Sunset Daily

Season: Open All Year

Guadalupe Park is located below Canyon Dam along the first mile of the Guadalupe River.   It features an ADA-accessible parking lot and trailway with fishing pier on the north side. A foot trail is available along the river on the south side of the park. The river can be accessed from the trails for fishing. Please have a state fishing license.

The Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority (GBRA) manages a hydropower plant along the north side of the river near the fishing pier.   This stretch of the Guadalupe river is very popular as the State's premier trout fishing stream.  The Guadalupe River is the Southernmost sustainable trout fishery in the nation.  No restroom, camping or picnic facilities are available in the park. Sometimes a portable toilet is provided.  The nearest restroom facility is located at nearby Overlook Park near the southern end of Canyon Dam.  Overlook Park closes at sunset daily.

Use of Guadalupe Park is free of charge.

Overlook Park

DAY USE ONLY

Hours: 7am -Sunset Daily

Season: Open All Year

Overlook Park is on a hilltop at the south end of Canyon Dam and is the location of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers headquarters at Canyon Lake. The park offers a scenic view to Canyon Lake and Dam. There is access to the Verada Real walking trail across Canyon Dam. A restroom at the top of the hill and visitor parking is available.  There are no camping or picnic facilities but you are welcome to hike and picnic.

The office for visitor information is open Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm, excluding Federal Holidays.

The use of this park is free of charge.
