Hunting at Waco Lake
2012 Hunting Information

Small Game
Small game include squirrel, rabbit and feral hogs. Small game permits may still be obtained however they expire 23 March 2012. No permits will be issued during summer months.
Trapping is prohibited in all hunting areas and parks. Small game may be taken by shotgun only (no buckshot) or legal archery/crossbow equipment only.
Dogs will only be allowed for rabbit and feral hogs but mut be written and verified on the permit by a Park Ranger.
Turkey
Turkey permits will open for application on February 1 2012. The 2012 season is open from March 31 - may 13. Only one gobbler may be taken per permit/per group. Small game including feral hogs may not be taken at any time during spring turkey season. No Permit limits will apply.
Dove, Waterfowl
Permits will open for application on August 15th. Permitted hunters will have access to all hunting zones on USACE lands at Waco Lake Project. These permits will not have a limit on them.
Deer Archery
Archery Permits will open for application on August 15th. Deer stands/blins may not be left on Corps property unattended. Legal permitted hunters may hunt all hunting zones. Crossbows are legal archery equipment. No permit limits will apply.
Deer Gun Season
USACE will start accepting applications for the Deer Drawing July 15th. The drawing date will be determined prior to the 15th of July. The drawing will be at Airport Beach Pavilion. Shotgun and slugs are the only type of firearm that will be permissible for this season. Hunters may carry in bait with them. No feeders or other type of baiting equipment is allowed. Any bait should be spread by hand. Pre scounting prior to your hunt is not advisable.
NO PERMITS WILL BE ISSUED DURING SUMMER MONTHS AFTER TURKEY SEASON

HUNTERS MUST OBEY HUNTING REGULATIONS SET FORTH BY THE STATE OF TEXAS
