Welcome to Lake Whitney

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District welcomes you to Whitney Lake, in Central Texas. Whitney Lake is located on the main stem of the Brazos River. The Whitney Lake Dam and Powerhouse are located approximately 5.5 miles southwest of Whitney, Texas,30 miles north of Waco, Texas, and 65 miles southwest of Fort Worth, Texas. Whitney Lake is part of the Three Rivers Region in the Fort Worth District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Over two million people visit Whitney Lake each year to enjoy camping, fishing, boating, water skiing, hunting, sight-seeing, and much more.

Updates and Closures

PLOWMAN CREEK PARK:  Plowman Equestrian Area Sites 35-44 are closed for reservations due to upcoming construction.
MCCOWN VALLEY PARK:  McCown Park Equestrian Area #1 Sites 66-75 are closed temporarily for reservations due to pending construction
                     McCown Park Equestrian Area #2 Sites 76-104 are closed temporarily for reservations due to pending construction
LOFERS BEND EAST PARK: Sites 5, 6, 7, 18, 19, 34, 41, 44, 46, 47, 48, 49, 57, 59, 61, 62, 63 are closed temporarily for reservations due to pending construction  
LOFERS BEND WEST PARK: Park is closed from October 1, 2011 until April 1, 2012.
CEDRON CREEK PARK:  Park is closed from October 1, 2011 until April 1, 2012.
LOFERS DAY USE: Park is temporarily closed due to construction work.
